Maddie is a 7-year-old girl who loves music and adventure, and just so happens to have a vision impairment. Triggs is her doggy best friend who loves doggy biscuits and mischief!
They live together with their mum and dad in a colourful town of Higgledy-Piggledy, and here they find music and adventure in the sounds of the everyday by really listening to the world around them.
Each episode features an original song and the creators see this as an opportunity to introduce kids to musical styles from all over the world! You’ll hear folk tunes, rock n’ roll, dancefloor bangers, and even a barbershop quartet of singing teeth!
The show began life as a podcast before transitioning to TV, with the goal of creating a series whereby if two kids, one sighted and one vision impaired, sit down side by side to ‘watch’ the show, neither will have a lesser experience.
The show is built around five core pillars: accessibility, representation, education, empowerment, and collaboration. Producers Turnip + Duck have worked extensively with blind and vision impairment organisations to ensure that the show is as authentic and inclusive as possible.
You can watch all 52 episodes of Maddie + Triggs on CBeebies or RTÉjr, and you can listen on BBC Sounds of RTÉjr Radio.
For fans outside of Ireland and UK, you can follow our Youtube Channel or listen to the original 15 podcasts on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
